Shades of Magic inspired Makeup

I loved the Shades of Magic Trilogy by Victoria Schwab and came up with makeup looks inspired by two characters.

Rhy – I thought about what kind of makeup Rhy would wear. I image Rhy’s makeup to be glamerous and always on trend. So I wanted to do a “floating” liner, a look that’s really popular on instagram right now. For the color scheme I choose red and gold – the colors of his kingdom. And of course I had to wear a blinding highlight.

Kell – For Kell’s look I wanted to keep the red and gold color scheme, because he’s a part of the royal family, too. However I wanted a cleaner look, so I left the lid “blank”. Of course I can’t forget his signature attribute, his completely black right eye. This two toned cut crease is what I came up with.

A to Z Bookish Survey

(This survey was created by perpetualpageturner)

Author you’ve read the most books from:
Sara Shepard – I’ve read the entire Pretty Little Liars Series as well as The Perfectionists Duology, which makes 18 books in total. I really loved these books, even though the PLL series was dragged on way too long. I hope, that there will be more books in the Perfectionists Series one day, because it was so good.

Best Sequel Ever:
A Gathering of Shadows – This book is part of the Shades of Magic Trilogy by Victoria Schwab and it was incredible. I loved the new characters, that were introduced in this book, as well as the magic tournament. Another thing that made this book special, was the incredible build up of tension in this book.

Currently Reading:
A Conjuring of Light by Victoria Schwab, third book in the Shades of magic trilogy.

Drink of Choice While Reading:
Tea!! I love any kind of tea, but ginger is my favorite.

E-reader or Physical Book:
E-reader! I’m a story lover, but not a book collector. Just thinking about buying physical copies, that clutter up my space, makes me uncomfortable. It’s also easier to read on my Kindle, when I’m lying down, which is my preferred reading position.

Official Doctor Who Cookbook – Review

I ordered the new Official Doctor Who Cookbook and wanted to share my first impression of it. I’m really particular when it comes to food, so I’d always like to know what kind of recipes are in a cookbook I’m interested in. That’s why I wanted to list every recipe at the end. Including a short description to help you decide whether you’d actually want to eat any of it.

The Basics:
There are 40 recipes in total, 16 of them are savory, the rest is sweet. Most of the recipes are  vegetarian but nearly none are vegan. Keep in mind that this isn’t a revolutionary cookbook, most recipes are pretty basic, the fun lies in the decoration.

Favorites of 2015

As promised here are my favorite books, tv shows, movies and beauty items of 2015.

Books:

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline: I picked this up because JesseTheReader said it’s his all time favorite and now it’s mine, too. IT’S SO AMAZING! 10 out of 5 stars

Winter by Marissa Meyer: My most anticipated book of 2015! It was a nice end to the series, but it was highly predictable. I still loved the characters and the couples are incredibly cute, so it deserves 5 stars anyway, I also love the writing style.

We Were Liars by E. Lockhart: Everyone and their cat has read this before I finally picked it up, but I really loved it. Right after I finished it, I read How To Be Bad by E. Lockhart, which I liked a lot, too.

The Martian by Andy Weir: I feel like everyone read this book already but if you haven’t, pick it up, it’s amazing!

The Darkest Minds Trilogy by Alexandra Bracken: Best dystopian series I’ve read so far. I need to finish the last book “In The Afterlight”, I’m so excited how this will end.
The Scorch Trials by James Dashner: This book is definitely my favorite of the Maze Runner Trilogy, I loved it because it’s pretty creepy.

The Humans by Matt Haig: How ever you’ll try to explain the plot, it will always sound weird, anyway you should pick this up immediately because it’s extremely funny and heart-warming. Essentially it’s about an alien who kills a mathematician and tries to destroy any knowledge of a solution to a mathematical problem, but to do so he has to pretend to be human.

The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins: I listened to the German audiobook and it was incredible!

TV Shows:

2015fava3

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3A
It’s no surprise to see this one in my favorites, because it’s my all time favorite tv show. There’s just one problem I had with this show: I hated Grant Ward and wanted him to die, but I didn’t want Brett Dalton to leave, because he’s great. Now this problem is solved! Grant Ward was killed and the inhuman from the other planet took over his body, I’m so excited to see what his intentions will be in the second half of the season. There’s another thing that bothered me about the first half of season 3: Rosalind’s death. She was such a great female character and they just killed her of for Coulson’s character development. Anyway I have complained enough let’s get to the good part: Daisy x Lincoln. They are so cute *-*. I really appreciate, that the writers took their time to built up this relationship, because nothing annoys me more than instalove.

The Flash Season 2A
I liked season one, but so far season two is even better. I loved the crossover with Arrow.

Once Upon A Time Season 5A
I really enjoyed the Camelot storyline until we found out about the Hook thing, then it kinda got ridiculous and I stopped watching it. Merida is a great addition to OUAT, my favorite episode is “The Bear King” (Episode 9), I mean how could you not love an episode that includes Merida, Mulan and Ruby? I was so excited to see Ruby again and finally we got an explanation for her absence on the show.

Jessica Jones
I binge watched this on Christmas and it’s amazing!

For some reason I’ve really gotten into make up this year. Here are some of my favorites.

20160102_120215
p2 Cream Eyeshadow in Orange Lava: A really nice orangey brown with golden shimmer, I wear it on my eyes all the time and I really like to wear it as a blush too. Check out this post if you want to see more.

Maybelline The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette: The eyeshadows are very pigmented and easy to blend. The shades are super pretty, my favorite is the golden brown in the upper row.

Maybelline Dr. Rescue Gel Effect Top Coat: This really increased the longevity of my nail polish.

Maybelline Color Elixir in Hibiscus Haven and Alluring Coral:
I love these so much! They’re nicely pigmented, not sticky and moisturizing.

New Addiction

I discovered a new website! It’s called iflist.com

On this website you can share ideas you’d like to see turned into a movie or tv show, that might include your own ideas, novels, crossovers or spin-offs. Even cooler is the fact that you can propose which actor/actress should play which character and other people can like, dislike and comment on your suggestion.

It’s basically the perfect website for tv show, movie and book addicts, just like me.

If you use this website too, leave your link in the comments!

If you want to check out my profil here’s the link: http://www.iflist.com/users/126601

The Fandom Book Tag

I wanted to create a tag, I decided to combine two of my favorite things: books and fandoms. I chose a few popular fandoms (btw I’m not in all of those fandoms) and then thought about a criterion related to it. Then I added a short note for all the books.

Since I’m new to blogging and wordpress I don’t have anyone to tag. If you do this tag please name me as the source. You can also add or leave out any fandoms, if you want to.

Doctor Who: a book with a (mostly) blue cover – Molly Moon’s Incredible Book of Hypnotism by Georgia Byng

I don’t know much about this book, but a friend recommended it to me. She read it as a kid and said I had to check it out.

Marvel: a book with a (mostly) red cover – Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

There are probably thousands of different covers for this book, but the one I own is mostly red. I was obsessed with Alice in Wonderland when I was a kid. So I picked it up maybe a year ago. I really like it, it’s weird but great. This is definitely a book I’d read again (and again and again).

The Simpsons: a book with a (mostly) yellow cover – The Girl With all the Gifts by M.R. Carey

I don’t want to give away much details about this book. Let me just say one thing, it a book about zombies, that people who don’t like zombie books will enjoy. Because it’s mostly told from a child’s perspective it’s kind of feels like reading a fairytale (with zombies of course). I also enjoyed the science part, I’m not a biologist, but I thought it was really interesting.
